Your Adventure Awaits

There are nights where you lay in bed and know you should be sleeping, but instead your mind is racing, dreading the looming work week ahead of you. You know there has to be more to life than this….this routine you’ve fallen into day after day. You wake up, go to work, come home, make dinner, do dishes, go to bed (and on top of it all, you may also have kids and a family who keep you busy). Then you wake up and do it all again, week after week, month after month, year after year. There are plenty of excuses not to do things…maybe you think don’t have enough time or money. Maybe you find comfort in doing the same thing every day.

Somehow, we find an excuse to simply exist. As we get older, we start looking back at our lives and wonder what did we do? What memories did we make? I watch movies and tv shows and read blogs and stories online of people who don’t live their life like the rest of us. Those people who are adventurous and travel the world. They have the opportunity to go to exotic places and experience a life most of us will never know. I’ve decided that I’m done living my life through the eyes of others. I don’t want to experience these adventures through a screen. I want to be the one to experience those moments in nature that take my breath away. I want to create my own adventures and my own memories. I want to experience the world around me… through my eyes.

I’ve learned that you don’t have to travel the world to find adventure. There are plenty of activities and fun “boarding” adventures just waiting for you and your family to try no matter where you live and without breaking the budget. I’m hoping this blog will inspire those of you like me, whether you work full time, have a family, have limited income, or are just tired of living the same day over and over. I’m not wealthy by any means (and I’m pretty sure I will be paying my student loan debt for the rest of my life). I’ve realized though, that I need to make time to go boarding, no matter what season it is, no matter how busy I am, or how many bills I need to pay. It’s important to live life while we can. Go visit some of these places and do things you may not have thought you would ever do, like SUP, surfing, or snowboarding. See what the world looks like from a different perspective. Remember that we are only here for a short while, and the time we have on this Earth goes by in an instant. We should do more than just exist. We should know what it feels like to really live and experience this beautiful world around us.
